Reports have come out recently that Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are in advanced talks to fight each other. As is often the case with such negotiations, however, what the reports are saying doesn't always line up with what the fighters themselves are saying.

A Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight has the potential to be the highest-grossing bout of the YouTube star's boxing career and provide a nice payday for the 55-year-old Tyson. But is this fight actually going to happen? Scroll down to learn more.

Reports Say Mike Tyson and Jake Paul Have Agreed To Fight

The UK Sun reported that a source close to Mike Tyson confirmed the fight negotiations to them yesterday.

“Mike and Jake are on board for an exhibition bout in Las Vegas,” a source reportedly told the UK Sun. “A verbal deal has been struck to get it on, but like all forms of sports business, now it’s all about the contracts and money split.”

The report continued to say that organizers are hoping the fight could generate over $60 million dollars. Mike Tyson then commented on the fight negotiations, however, and what he said contradicted what the UK Sun reported. Scroll down to reveal what Tyson said.

According to Mike Tyson himself, he's not involved in any negotiations to fight Jake Paul. He took to social media to say he's never discussed fighting Jake Paul with his management team.

"This is new to me. I just saw Jake in St. Barths and he never mentioned it," Tyson wrote on his Twitter account.

So why was it reported that they were in negotiations? Perhaps the source of the story was being dishonest or perhaps promoters floated the idea of a fight in the media to see what kind of response it garnered. Scroll down to reveal more.

Would Mike Tyson Fight Jake Paul?

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul have fought on the same card before. Paul was on the undercard of Tyson's November 2020 exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. That fight was ruled a draw.

Tyson noted after his fight with Roy Jones Jr. that he felt better than thought he would. He stated that he was interested in fighting again but he hasn't since.

"I felt better than I anticipated," Tyson said of the Jones fight. "I thought I would be a little more nervous than I was, but I was relaxed."

While the opponents Jake Paul has faced have typically been athletes from other sports. It's hard to deny that he has defeated all challengers thus far in his young pro-boxing career.

He started his boxing journey by defeating fellow YouTuber Ali Loui Al-Fakhri. He then defeated Nate Robinson on the Tyson vs Jones Jr. undercard. He followed that up with 3 straight wins over professional MMA fighters, first defeating Ben Askren, and then winning two straight against Tyron Woodley.

Is a fight against Mike Tyson in store for Paul? Only time will tell.
